When trying to configure my printer I get the error “Print service is unavailable: Bad file descriptor” - what should I do?

This message is displayed if you open the System Settings and then go to Printers (the Printers KCM). It is also possible that the web interface for CUPS won’t display at all.

To resolve this, run $ sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service to enable the service at boot and $ sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service to start it right away.
