Two-factor authentication now required to register a GitLab account

I estimate the current amount of antagonistic (spam) user accounts registered on code.chakralinux.org to be about 500. New registrations happen on a nearly daily basis, several accounts per day. In order to slow them down, it is from now on a requirement for all new accounts to use two-factor authentication.

Is there still legitimate users logging in?

Approximately 550 accounts have been deleted, along with their spam.

Yes.
