Some mirrors doesn't work propely

salve

i noticed some mirrors doesn’t work properly any more and i don’t know where i should place a bug report.

these doesn’t work for me:

Server = http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/chakra/$repo/x86_64
Server = http://mirror.wh-stuttgart.net/chakra/$repo/x86_64
Fehler: Konnte Datei 'qt5-webkit-5.212.0alpha2-14-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' nicht von ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de übertragen : Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 10 seconds
Fehler: Konnte Datei 'qt5-webkit-5.212.0alpha2-14-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' nicht von mirror.wh-stuttgart.net übertragen : Failed to connect to mirror.wh-stuttgart.net port 80: Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt

but there are more mirrors these are from reemZ

Jeah, those are not working. You should notify Totte. https://code.chakralinux.org/chakra/packages/core/blob/testing/pacman-mirrorlist/mirrorlist

I have the same issue for a while now.

I doubt it is a mirror issue, as you can see that the main server, rsync.chakralinux.org is also giving the same error.

A workaround is to disable pacman timeout by editing /etc/pacman.conf and adding:

[options]
DisableDownloadTimeout

it works with disabled download timeout but why?

I unfortunately did not have time to troubleshoot it further.

It is obviously not a connection speed issue as I am downloading at 1MBps.

I would start by searching for this error on Arch’s wiki/forum. =)

The workaround is not working for me. With -Syu --debug, i get these on big packages:

debug: url: https://rsync.chakralinux.org/packages/testing/x86_64/firefox-68.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
debug: maxsize: 48298076
debug: opened tempfile for download: /var/cache/pacman/pkg/firefox-68.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz.part (wb)
debug: curl returned error 63 from transfer

Error 63 is comes from curl: CURLE_FILESIZE_EXCEEDED

Maybe our older curl version got some bug…

New info: with an external wifi module, now i was able to download the file. So the problem may be related to network speed.
