Latest status of the testing repository [7 Feb 2018 - 25 Feb 2018]

Hi @testers,

Our testing repository only holds a couple of packages at the moment, but I wanted to let you know that we have been preparing an important upgrade of our gcc toolchain and its related dependencies that will soon be available to you.

This might delay a bit the availability of the newest versions of KDE’s software, including the new Plasma 5.12.0. We prefer to move them separately to decrease upgrade risks and make any related troubleshooting easier.

If you are reading this and want to help Chakra with quality assurance, join our testers team so you can be tagged and notified for future updates and changes.

As promised this just landed in testing today:

Please report any issues related to the gcc upgrade directly on the dedicated thread above.

We had to build new Plasma, Applications and Frameworks against this after all, otherwise we would need to rebuild previous versions and postpone new ones a lot.

So you also now get:
Plasma 5.12.0
Applications 17.12.2
Frameworks 5.43.0

Enjoy and make sure to report any issues!

Plasma 5.12.1 is now available. Expect 5.12.2 in a week from now.

Plasma 5.12.2 just landed.

If no further issues are reported, everything will move into the stable repositories in a couple of days.

Everything moved into stable on Feb 25th: Important upgrade of core package groups and Plasma 5.12 series by KDE now available in Chakra
