Does Chakra support Nvidia Optimus setups?

(Lilith Valentine) #1

I was wondering if Chakra supported programs such as Bumblebee or any alternatives for working with a Nvidia Optimus laptop. I attempted to Google this question and only came up with Arch Linux, I also found no results in the forums. I’ve been considering switching back to Chakra after so many years of being away, but my Optimus has been a serious issue for other distros and I fear it will most likely pose an issue with Chakra as well. I’ve been pretty much limited to Linux Mint since getting this laptop and I really can’t afford to replace this laptop at this time.
Current setup
CPU: Intel i5-8250U (8) @ 3.400GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce MX150
16GB DDR3 RAM

Hi Lilith,
yes bumblebee is supported in Chakra (I never tested that but should work). You can follow the Arch wiki, you can also look here:

I actually went and tested it, but ended up with an error about the dependencies for Linux Kernel 4.19 not being met.
