Cannot execute wine, "/usr/bin/wine does not exist"

wine
(Vojtěch Čihák) #1

I cannot execute wine, it says /usr/bin/wine does not exist. However, file is there, with ELF in beginning, permissions look right, it is executable etc.

I tried to run wine64, it runs but it does not executes 32-bit win programs.

I tried to uninstall and install wine package (version 3.2) but problem remains.

Thanks for help.

What’s the output of these?

Please post in English by prepending LC_ALL=C to commands, and format your post to put the output in code tags. Edit your previous post, then try these:

$ pacman -Qkk wine
$ sudo pacman -Syu
(Vojtěch Čihák) #5
$ LC_ALL=C pacman -Qkk wine
wine: 4772 total files, 0 altered files

$ LC_ALL=C sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 lib32 is up to date
 core is up to date
 desktop is up to date
 gtk is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
 there is nothing to do

I edited previous post and I did what you say, it didn’t seem to help.

Thanks

Resolved.
Directory /var/lib/pacman/local/lib32-glibc-2.26-1/ was empty.
I reinstalled lib32-glibc-2.26-1 (via Octopi) and files “desc”, “files” and “mtree” appeared.
Wine started to work.

Thank you very much for help.
